Today’s blog post will include my first ever edition of makeup reviews. I purchase new products quiet regularly, only because I love makeup, and get excited when new products are launched. Therefore I decided to start a monthly makeup favourites column, where I will review, list, and test my latest purchases. Updating you on what I liked best, why, and my suggestions as to how to apply these products. Below will include a quick beauty lesson on highlighters, as well as a clip from my YouTube channel of my current 3 favourite highlighters.
Why use a highlighter:
A great highlighter can perk up your complexion, accentuate the features you love, and even camouflage aging skin. Highlighter can help minimise dark circles, decrease the look of wrinkles, and mimic a facelift with appropriate placement. The key is knowing how to use it.
How to choose/use a highlighter:
When you’re choosing a highlighter you have to think about your skin tone, if you have very sallow skin, pink toned highlighters are going to stick out, but if you have very pale skin pink tones are perfect. The goal when applying highlighter is to get a reflective dewy look that makes you look like you just moisturized your skin. You don’t want to be shiny or glittery, so try some on the back of your hand when you’re at the store and blend well. If the product gives your skin a slight sheen you’ve got it right, if you look covered in glitter or sickly, try again.
