Spring is on approach, the weather starts to get a little warmer, spring flowers begin to bloom, with a few extra hours of daylight, Easter is a fabulous time of year to get married! Easter also marks the start of the wedding season, which means you don’t have to worry about summer brides having the same dress, flowers, and theme as you. Spring is full of fresh pastel colours, which is personally my favourite aspect. It is also a great way to incorporate colour into your wedding.
Choose a venue with a beautiful garden, full of blowing spring flowers (if its warm enough). It is best to set up a marquee just in case you get those odd showers every now and then. Country side locations are most popular during this season. Stick to pastel colours, Pink, Yellow, Blue, and Lime Green. Spring means lots of fresh flowers too, so use them to your advantage, Daffodils and Tulips are seasonal flowers, they make great centrepieces and bouquets. However there are a variety of other flowers you can use such as: Delphinium, Gerbera, Sunflower,Peonies, and Roses.
The advantage of hosting an Easter wedding is that you can decorate your venue with elements that relate to Easter such as mini eggs, birdcage’s, and baskets. These are all budget friendly, and complement your overall theme.
If you are sticking to an Easter theme, then a light fruit cake covered in pastel marzipan would be ideal, however you can never go wrong with a chocolate cake, or a naked cake decorated with fresh fruits, and flowers. Spring is the season were cupcakes at a wedding are acceptable, create mini cupcakes out of your wedding cake design, and the guests can take them home as favours.
Nothing says spring more than colourful dresses, pastel colours are great for bridesmaid dresses, they compliment everyone’s skin tone. If you are not sure what shade to choose then why not have them all?Try a multi-tone pastel palette it’s fabulous and flattering too. Colourful bowties are perfect match for the groomsmen. For a more classy sophisticated look, accessories your bridesmaids with fascinators, they come in all shapes and sizes, so you can mix and match.
For a Bride, don’t be afraid to incorporate some colour into your dress, a popular example are blush pink wedding gowns. Alternatively add some colour onto your veil, or shoes. Pastel colours match perfectly with white wedding gowns.
Keeping your guests entertained at a wedding is hard, the advantage of hosting an Easter wedding, is that you can incorporate some fun Easter games to get everyone moving. Expose their competitive nature by asking them to partake in an Easter egg hunt challenge. If you have kids at your wedding they will enjoy egg painting and bonnet decorating games. If the budget permits then hire a band, or musician to keep the crowd entertained.
