First I would like to start this post by wishing my American followers a Happy Independence day. The 4th of July marks many special occasions, one of which is the wedding anniversary of the celebrity family David & Victoria Beckham. In celebration of their 16th anniversary, this post will include details of their lavish event, as well as inspirational ideas on how to create a similar theme.
I admit that I was a big Spice Girl fan (Girl Power!). My favourite two in the group were Victoria & Geri Halliwell. I recall owning a copy of the limited edition Victoria and David Beckham magazine published by OK on their wedding day. I searched everywhere for that magazine to help with this post but unfortunately couldn’t find it, but thanks to Google, I was able to jog my memory on this event.
The iconic duo tied the knot in a lavish royal themed ceremony in Luttrellstown Castle, Dublin-Ireland. The venue was beautifully decorated with rose petals, and silver birch trees. Victoria arrived to the ceremony in a burgundy vintage Bentley, accompanied by her sister maid of honour, and two flower-girls. Victoria wore a champagne strapless gown by the amazing designer Vera Wang, with a 20-foot train. Walking down the 60-foot isle covered with rose petals, on the sounds of a violin. This event was truly a royal themed wedding.
Victoria was accessorised beautifully with an 18-carat gold crown encrusted with diamonds by jeweler Slim Barrett. After the couples exchanged vows, white doves were released into the air, as well as a purple flag with the initials VBD. The 230 guests were asked to wear black and white, as the couple changed into purple party outfits by the designer Antonio Berardi, whom also custom-made an outfit for their 3 month old son Brooklyn. I would like to take a moment and praise Victoria, for having her wedding just 3 months after her first child was born, she looks incredible.
The ceremony concluded by the guest’s releasing red balloons into the sky, with a display of fireworks. What a beautiful fairytale. Below are images from their special day:
