It was finally October, the month I have been waiting for, ever since I found out that my blog was shortlisted for ‘Best Rising Star’ at the Wedding Blog Awards 2016. I would like to take this moment to thank you all for your nominations, and votes I truly appreciate it. With your help I made it to the finals! and won the VIP Package! The event was spectacular, I truly enjoyed my evening meeting other wedding bloggers, as well as the handsome celebrity guest Gethin Jones.
My VIP Package included, a night at the fabulous Andaz Hotel in London, transportation to the event, a VIP table for me and my guests at the award, private meet and greet with the celebrity host, as well as a goodie bag with goods worth £350. Compliments of the Wedding Magazine.
On the day of the awards, my Addison Lee premier car arrived to take me to the Andaz Hotel in the heart of london, I gradually became more excited for the event as we drove through the city. I arrived to this gorgeous hotel, couldn’t help but admire the modern design, with creative touches such as the food quotes on the walls of the reception.
Upon check in I was told by the receptionist that my room has been upgraded! (Yay what a treat). The room was fantastic, so spacious with my own walk in closet, just what I needed to get ready for the evening ahead.
The evening theme and dress code was ‘Glamorous’ I therefore decided to wear a gold sequenced Badgley Mischka gown, accompanied with some very important dancing shoes by Gina. Starting the evening with some celebratory drinks at the Catch Bar in the Andaz, accompanied by two of my dearest friends.
As I entered the hall, the first thing that caught my eye were the gorgeous floral arrangements by the very talented Simon Nickell, not only were they my favourite colours (Red & Pink) but their essence filled the spacious ball room. My VIP table was located in the perfect spot right next to the stage, and the amazing cake designed by Elizabeth Cake Emporium which was delicious.
Moments later, entertainment arrived (The In Crowd), which were quick to get the crowd off their feet.
Darren Summerfield, Publishing Director of Hubert Burda Media UK, took to the stage to open proceedings. Followed by Otto Steenbeek, General Manager at Andaz London Liverpool Street. Then came the girls! Wedding Web Editor Katie Byrne and Deputy Web Editor Sarah Tippett addressed the crowd before welcoming on stage our celebrity host Gethin Jones.
Gethin began the award ceremony, handing out the awards to some amazing bloggers (Congratulations to all the winners). Finally it was time to announce my category ‘Best Rising Star’, which had the most number of nominations.
I received my VIP Prize from the lovely Christine at the Wedding Magazine
